Fotor

ParentMode's take

16+ with parent awareness; 13–15 only with active parental oversight of content creation and sharing.

Fotor is a legitimate creative tool, but the 17+ rating reflects mature content themes in templates and user-generated examples, plus the unpredictable nature of AI-generated imagery. Younger teens may encounter suggestive or crude material in galleries and AI outputs.

What a parent can do

Data & privacy

Check Fotor's privacy label on the App Store; assume any images, edits, or prompts sent to cloud features may be used to train or improve the AI model.

Controls

Use device-level parental controls (Screen Time on iOS, Family Link on Android) to limit app access and in-app purchases, and review Fotor's own privacy and content-filtering settings.

A cautious next step

If your child is under 13 and wants photo editing, consider offline editing tools with no AI components or cloud sync until they're older.
